Our mission is to open the door for bright futures by providing access to unique STEAM education opportunities for all.
The Museum at Prairiefire is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to meaningful learning and engagement with science, culture, art and natural history.
As well as hosting a variety of dynamic, authentic Natural History, Science and Art exhibitions, the Museum at Prairiefire offerings include regular events, interactive activities and programs for adults and children.
See stunning artifacts from national and regional collections, let the kids explore in the Discovery Room, or get out of this world with a Virtual Reality Experience. Join us for Science Happy Hour, Cinema & Science or bring out the kids for The Little Explorers Club or JAM Sessions. There’s something for everyone, and any age!
“Education is the key to empowerment and sustainability. Education is a right which is the key to the rest of the rights of life in society. Education is the key to social justice.”
— Kailash Satyarthi

Building for the environment.
Unmatched in its uniqueness: soft, undulating horizontal-stacked stone volumes build in color from ashen to nearly white at the parapet, stretching wide, evoking the expansiveness of the rolling prairie—only to be pierced and punctuated by a jagged vertical dichroic glass peak, glittering with shifting colors that dance like flames…

Diversity and Inclusion.
Our mission is most effectively fulfilled through a commitment to inclusiveness as a core value and practice. We maintain that building and sustaining diversity requires an ongoing commitment to inclusion that must find full expression in our organizational culture, values, norms, and behaviors.
Throughout our work, we support diversity across all lines of difference, including age, economic circumstance, ethnicity, sex, race, range of ability, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity/expression. We aim to lead by example, viewing and encouraging diversity as a fundamental and abiding strength of our community.
The Museum of Prairiefire Foundation recognizes that its effectiveness will be enhanced, and its mission well served when the practice of inclusion is reflected in all aspects of the organization.
