SciFun Camp: Astronomy & Space Science

Winter is a great time for star viewing.  The cold and dry air means less humidity in the atmosphere, which generally makes for clearer skies.  On the first day of this two-day camp, we will learn about astronomy and stargazing.  We will conduct experiments to explore how gravity works, why eclipses happen, how to navigate using stars, and watch videos.  On day two, we will talk about space exploration.  You’ve probably heard about planned missions to the moon and Mars.  What would you bring with you if you went on such a mission?  How would you construct a Martian lander?  In a version of the classic egg-drop experiment, you will build a Martian lander that will safely land an egg when dropped off our balcony!

For elementary and middle school age learners.

Camp runs from September 30th - October 1st. Drop-off for camps are from 8:00-8:20 (drop off) to 3:30-4:00 (pick-up).

Cost is $80 for members and $100 for non members (Members, please log in to your account and use the discount code previously emailed to you)
