SciFun Camp: Eco-Friendly Engineering

MAP eNews SciFun EcoEngineer.jpg

Do you have an engineering mind? As the world's population grows, scientists and engineers are thinking of ways to support greater and greater numbers of people while also sustaining our natural resources to feed and shelter them. It is one of the biggest challenges humanity faces. In this four-day camp, you will learn and use problem-solving skills that could one day help us meet this challenge. Starting with basic building blocks - literally, we will learn how to make blocks out of plaster! - then on to planning, designing, and building structures. Using this knowledge, we will build towers, bridges, aqueducts, and channels.

Here's the Eco-Friendly Engineering challenge....each structure you build must have at least one feature that helps the natural environment. Like creating a space for a garden that supports pollinators, adding a windmill to a tower, make room for solar panels on the roof, or draw a blueprint for an eco-friendly house. Come up with as many features as you like, let your imagination run free. Your creative thinking could one day help an entire community!

For ages 6-13 years old

Camp runs from June 1st to June 4th. Drop-off for camps are from 8:00-8:20 (drop off) to 3:30-4:00 (pick-up).

Cost is $150 for members and $200 for non members (Members, please log in to your account and use the discount code previously emailed to you)
