Spring arrives this month, and our attention turns towards warmer weather and observing all the things that are changing outside. The birds are starting to sing again, and things start looking a little greener out there. What causes this transformation from seemingly lifeless dirt to a carpet of green? We know about the importance of water and sunlight for a plant's growth (which we will learn more about in our next JAM), but a lot of the action is happening underground. In this JAM, we will explore what healthy soil does for plants and how you can test soil health and how acidic it is. If you want to plant a garden, knowing your soil is an important step!

PLEASE NOTE:

  • We require a 24 hour cancellation notice for Little Explorers Club and JAM Sessions reservations via emailing info@visitthemap.org. Please include the name on the reservation, number of students, date and time of the class.

  • Please help create an outstanding learning environment by limiting disruptions in the classroom!

  • Parents are, of course, always welcome to remain in class but should a parent choose to step out, we have provided a seating area just outside the classrooms. Parents and siblings are also welcome to explore our Discovery Room or the rest of the Museum until the class concludes.
